Twenty-eight vehicles and other equipment deemed surplus by the Cherokee County Board of Commissioners will be sold at auction May 12 in Canton.

Jeff Dobson & Associates Inc. will conduct the auction beginning at 9 a.m. at 160 McClure St. Surplus equipment of the county and also of the cities of Canton, Fairmount and Woodstock will be offered, according to the auctioneer's website.

The county listings, mostly passenger cars and trucks, have already been replaced by newer equipment and are no longer being used, officials said.

Also, Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services is getting rid of items ranging from washers, dryers and kitchen appliances to fire extinguishers, storage lockers and chain saws. Information: https://bit.ly/2IBgREM
