The chance of rain will be going up by the weekend, but so will temperatures.

Channel 2 Action News meteorologist David Chandley said highs will be in the low 90s on Thursday, mid-90s on Friday and mid- to upper 90s on Saturday.

Sunday's highs will be in the mid-90s, Chandley predicted.

He said the chance of rain will be 20 percent Thursday and Friday, 30 percent on Saturday and 40 percent on Sunday.

Highs on Wednesday included 93 in Marietta, 94 at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport and 95 degrees in Cartersville and on the westside near Mableton.

Atlanta's normal high for late July is 89 degrees.
