The city of Chamblee will close the school crossing at Vanet Road on Friday for safety precautions. Chamblee Public Works staff will use the time to evaluate the crossing location and determine the best course of action for repairs.

The walkway crosses the drainage path between Chamblee Middle School and Chamblee High School. There is an 18-inch culvert pipe underneath. Although Public Works has been monitoring the area for several months, an erosion issue has occured and progressed to a point that the walkway may become a hazard. The city will monitor the issue and release more information on its course of action next week.
