Centennial Place Elementary, a year-round Atlanta Public School, was named a Title 1 Distinguished School this year, for consistently meeting state academic targets even with its large enrollment of economically disadvantaged students. The school is one of 14 APS schools to earn the recognition. It was left off a previously released list of schools. A total of 824 Georgia schools earned the designation this year.
