Celebrate 1st North Gwinnett state football championship at pep rally

North Gwinnett High School's football team will celebrate its 7A state championship with a community pep rally on Thursday, the city of Suwanee announced.

North Gwinnett, located in Suwanee, beat Colquitt County 19-17 on Saturday with a last-minute field goal from kicker Cameron Clark.

The game was played on North Gwinnett’s home turf, at Tom Robinson Stadium in Suwanee. The state championship is North Gwinnett’s first.

The city of Suwanee will honor the team for its win on Thursday in Town Center Park. The rally, beginning at 7 p.m., will feature the school’s cheerleaders and band as well as the championship team.
