I-85 is back to normal, and almost all of the cows have been caught, after an accident left them free to roam during the Friday afternoon rush hour in Gwinnett County.

A tractor-trailer carrying cattle tipped on its side on northbound I-85 at Spout Springs Road, police said.

Between 30 and 40 cows got loose, but almost all of them have been captured, Cpl. Jake Smith told the AJC on Friday night.

No injuries were reported, Smith said.

One lane of I-85 was closed for several hours, and traffic was backed up for miles in both directions. The southbound delays were the result of onlookers, the Georgia Department of Transportation said.
