Carrollton grandmother wins $411,000

A Carrollton grandmother thought she was dreaming when her husband told her she’d won a Fantasy 5 jackpot.

“Somebody pinch me,” Charlotte Rivas, grandmother of 16, recalled saying.

Rivas matched all five winning numbers in the May 19 Fantasy 5 drawing, winning $411,711.

Winning numbers from the drawing were: 14-18-28-31-39. Coleman’s Grocery, 1467 Highway 92 N. in Fayetteville, sold the winning ticket.

Rivas, 61, said the win came at a good time. She and her husband, Vince, celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary May 2, and the mother of seven celebrated her birthday May 29.

The couple had begun building their dream home and will use their winnings to complete it.
