Sabrina Lynn Benton, 50, faces one felony abuse charge for the alleged incident, which was witnessed by a visitor at the St. Benedict Personal Care Home in Mableton, according to an arrest warrant obtained by the AJC.
Benton, of Atlanta, allegedly struck the Alzheimer's patient five times on the lower back and buttocks with her open hand in the May 28, the warrant states. Benton was attempting to get the woman to sit down in a kitchen chair as the woman was trying to walk out of the room, according to police. The victim was not seriously injured.

A spokeswoman for the home said Benton is no longer employed there.
