A nurse was injured Friday morning when a woman attempting to park on Northside Hospital’s campus accelerated into a building.

The woman’s car crashed into the Eye Partners Surgery Center on Johnson Ferry Road, according to Sandy Springs police spokesman Sgt. Salvador Ortega.

“An elderly female was attempting to park in a space,” Ortega said in a statement. “Instead of stepping on the brake pedal, she accelerated and drove into a building.”

The nurse’s injuries were minor, he said.

Footage from NewsChopper2 showed the car jumped a curb and ran over a grassy area before it crashed into the corner of the building. Its back wheels were suspended in the air.

Because the incident happened in a parking lot, there was no impact to traffic, according to the WSB 24-hour Traffic Center.

What?s clear from the documents is that most of the officers called in sick last Friday and that most of them worked downtown in the center of protests.
