Canton has posted a job opening for downtown development manager, assisting in the work of various local entities including the Main Street Program, Downtown Development Authority and Canton Tourism.

“Working with local businesses, non-profits, real estate experts, financial institutions and developers, the downtown development manager will have a hands-on approach in growing investment in one of Georgia’s largest designated historic districts,” the posting says.
“The position will work with other city departments in creating and promoting opportunities to highlight downtown Canton through events, social media, public relations, programs of education and outreach.”
As the county seat of Cherokee County, Canton is home to many government services and a growing retail and restaurant scene, with more than 250,000 square feet of historic space undergoing redevelopment in the central business district, the city says.
