Responding to the COVID-19 outbreak, the city of Canton said the City Council will continue its regular monthly meetings but it is postponing non-essential public meetings.

Monthly meetings by city boards, commissions and authorities that are not required will be postponed for the next several weeks, according to a city announcement. Those wishing to speak about a City Council agenda item but not attend the meeting can email comments to: TellUs@cantonga.gov

The city also said Municipal Court trials scheduled for March 25 will be reset for April 22; it will not disconnect utility services and will waive late fees on utility payments during the next 30 days; and that it encourages payment for city services online at the Cantonga.gov website, through autodrafts, or at the drop box at 110 Academy St.

The city canceled the housing forum scheduled for Thursday, March 12, but said it planned to roll out via social media and the city website information that would have been covered. Information: https://www.cantonga.gov/
