A Canton woman who was reported missing this week was in jail in Tennessee, authorities said Thursday.

Authorities initially thought Stephanie Hasty went missing while traveling Monday to her son's orientation at Belmont College in Nashville, according to WSMV-TV. They asked people to call 911 or the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office with any information about her whereabouts.

On Thursday, Cherokee sheriff’s spokesman Lt. Jay Baker said Hasty wasn’t missing. She was arrested in Monroe County, Tenn., on a DUI charge, he said.

Hasty, 39, was released from jail Thursday, WSMV-TV reported.
