The bridge in Canton that carries Marietta Road over Canton Creek will close at 8 p.m. Tuesday and will reopen at 5 a.m. the next day so that crews can put polymer on top of the bridge decking.

City Manager Billy Peppers said they’re finishing up a project that also included shoring up bridge beams and making other structural repairs to the 80-year-old structure.

The bridge had also been closed for a week in February with detours put in place as part of the refurbishing.
