Phillips State Prison is prepared to offer candidates jobs at its upcoming job fair.
The Buford penitentiary is hiring corrections officers at the March 15 hiring event. Candidates will be able to have an interview and complete a physical training test and physical exam at the job fair. If they meet the prison’s requirements, they will receive a hiring package at the end of the day.

Job seekers must bring a completed application, which is available at gdc.jobs.com; a copy of their high school diploma or GED transcript; a valid driver’s license; a social security card; a birth certificate; a DD214 form, if he or she has served in the military; sealed SAT, ACT, Compass, Asset, and/or Accuplacer scores, if available; proof of POST certification, if already POST certified; and athletic attire. Candidates must be at citizens of the United States, at least 18 years old, with a high school diploma or GED and no felony convictions. Corrections officers receive benefits including health and dental insurance, sick leave, paid holidays and a 401K plan.
The job fair will be held at the Army National Guard center at 261 E. Crogan St. in Lawrenceville on March 15 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Phillips State Prison is a medium-security facility, with the capacity to house 918 male inmates.
