The qualifying process is complete for races to fill three McDonough City Council seats in the November election.

McDonough is the only city in Henry County whose city council is divided into districts along with one at-large seat. All three incumbents have qualified to run for the right to retain their seats. In District III, Craig Elrod seeks another term and is being challenged by Janice Scotchman. The current District IV council member, Kamali Varner, faces Teresa Bradley Wheeler. The at-large seat is now held by Benjamin Pruett, and the challengers for that seat are Brandon Robinson and Carla L. Dennis.

The three-week early voting period begins Oct. 14 in McDonough.
