The school zone speed cameras installed near Mason Elementary School at 3030 Bunten Road in Duluth are now up and running, taking photos and ready to hopefully slow drivers.

For the next two more weeks, anyone caught speeding 15 mph or more over the posted school speed limit (when lights are flashing), will receive a written warning by mail. After this mandatory 30-day warning period, anyone speeding 15 mph or more over the posted school speed limit (when lights are flashing) will receive a ticket.

Drivers will be fined $75 for the first violation and $125 for the second violation.

Drivers will not receive citations from the camera for speeding outside of school hours, but drivers are asked to follow speed limits at all times.
