The Sandy Spring City Council has approved incentives totaling $5,590 for a car-themed coffee shop/restaurant/television studio in a former Firestone tire dealership at the north end of town.

High Octane Hospitality LLC plans to open a “family friendly” eatery and “Caffeine & Octane” TV studio in the North River Shopping Center at 8877 Roswell Road.

“Caffeine & Octane” is an NBC Sports Network show that had 12 million viewers in its third season and holds “North America’s largest monthly car show” at Perimeter Mall in Dunwoody, according to High Octane’s economic development incentive application.

High Octane Hospitality will make a roughly $750,000 capital investment in the ex-tire store; spend an additional $400,000 on furniture, fixtures and equipment; and create at least 20 full-time jobs, meeting Sandy Springs’ criteria for a Tier III incentive: a $1,100 permit fee waiver, and a business occupational tax waiver of $1,496.84 a year for three years.
