The latest crop of Gwinnett County police officers are set to graduate Wednesday night.

Eleven cadets are graduating from the latest session of the Gwinnett County Police Academy, a 26-week program that prepares new officers for duty. The class started with 18 candidates; 11 made it through the nearly six months of training.

All of the cadets are new to law enforcement and first responder experience, said Cpl. Deon Washington, a department spokesman. Three of the 11 are Army veterans, one is a Marine veteran, and another is an active Army reservist. “Several” have completed bachelor’s degrees, and one graduating cadet holds a master’s, Washington said.

The new officers are:

• Joshua M. Bowie

• Christian Brewer

• Angela M. Carter

• Michael A. Evanko

• Clay N. Geidner

• Taylor R. Glenn

• Michael J. Graffo

• Jacob L. Kurin

• Leo L. Lupoli

• Kristen L. Moore

• Danielle N. Ziegler

The family is hoping a fundraiser will help pay for the updates to their home for the recovering officer.
