Downtown Norcross drivers should expect slight delays as road improvements to the infamous railroad crossing at Holcomb Bridge Road and Thrasher Street begin this week. Construction will include raising the intersection by five feet to improve the grade approaching and leaving the railroad crossing.

A number of heavy trucks have found themselves stuck on the tracks in recent years, several times resulting in collision with a train. The much needed improvements should improve safety.

The city has created a quick and convenient detour route to help visitors and residents easily navigate to downtown shops and restaurants.

The entire project is expected to be complete in late May 2019. Information: www.norcrossga.net.
