BurgerFi is nigh, Gwinnett.

A new location for the burgeoning chain — which bills itself one of the country's fastest-growing "better burger concepts" — is under construction in a small strip center at 938 Duluth Highway in Lawrenceville, just west of Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road.

Messages left with BurgerFi weren't immediately returned Tuesday, and a possible opening date was unclear. That said, the restaurant's exterior appears to be finished and workers looked to be installing lighting and tables early Tuesday afternoon.

According to its website, BurgerFi hopes to have about 100 restaurants open nationwide by the end of the year. It currently has five Georgia locations, including three in Atlanta, one in Alpharetta and one in Kennesaw.

The restaurant uses "100 percent pure, all-natural beef free of growth hormones, steroids, antibiotics, chemicals and additives." Beef hot dogs, french fries, onion rings and multiple frozen custard options are also on the menu.

The new Lawrenceville location will be in the same strip that includes recently opened Penn Station East Coast Subs and Willy's Mexicana Grill restaurants.
