A DeKalb County woman said a bullet flew into her house overnight and through her children’s rooms while her son sat in his bedroom.

Channel 2 Action News reported that the mother heard four shots ring out just after midnight from the road outside her home in Ellenwood in South DeKalb.

Identified in a police report as Naila Morris, the woman said she believes the gunshots came from Panthersville Road, behind her home, which faces Penders Ridge Trail.

Morris said the bullet flew into the home, through her son’s room, and into his twin sister’s bedroom. Her son was sitting in his bedroom at the time. No injuries were reported.

Photos taken from the scene show the bullet hit the wall just over her son’s bed. Four walls were damaged in the shooting, the police report stated.

DeKalb police were collecting evidence outside the home early Wednesday morning, the news station reported. A 9 mm shell casing was found on Panthersville Road behind the home.
