Buford City Commissioners voted 2-1 this week to deny a rezoning request to allow for a new subdivision on Wade Orr Road. Commissioners Chris Burge and Michael Smith voted against the proposed 28-lot development citing concern school construction in the area was not yet ready to accommodate the increased demand.

The proposed homes on 15.44 acres would have been 2,600 to 3,000 square feet and priced in the $400,000 range.
