Norfolk Southern Railroad will close the railroad crossing at Ga. 13/Buford Highway just northeast of its intersection with Jones Mill Road in Doraville beginning Monday, May 11 for track maintenance. Assuming the weather cooperates, the continuous closure is scheduled from 8 a.m. May 11 through 5 a.m. May 13.

A detour will reroute traffic through Dekalb and Gwinnett southbound on Ga. 13/Buford Highway to Ga. 140/Jimmy Carter Boulevard westbound, then to Ga. 141/Peachtree Industrial Boulevard southbound, to I-285 eastbound back to Ga. 13/Buford Highway. Drivers traveling northbound on Ga. 13/Buford Highway will be directed to take I-285 westbound to Ga. 141/Peachtree Industrial northbound, then Ga. 140/Jimmy Carter eastbound back to Ga. 13/Buford Highway.

Railroad crossing closure signs, message boards, and detour signs will be placed near the route to alert drivers in advance of the change.
