It's a holiday miracle! The Budweiser Clydesdales are coming to Lawrenceville's first-ever Christmas parade after all.

Last month, the city announced that the iconic equines were scheduled to join the festivities during its Dec. 2 parade.

The masses rejoiced.

Then, a few weeks later, the city delivered bad news: The appearance had been cancelled due to scheduling issues.

The masses wept.

But on Thursday, Lawrenceville — and Anheuser-Busch —provided reason to cheer again. The Clydesdales, they said, are coming after all.

"Anheuser-Busch had a cancellation with their West Coast team and immediately recognized the opportunity to honor their commitment to the Atlanta market that first week in December," Andrew Lorimer of Eagle Rock Distributing Company, a partner in Lawrenceville's Christmas parade, said in a news release.

"We are grateful for their decision and look forward to bringing the Clydesdales, as promised, to Lawrenceville for the holidays."

City Manager Chuck Warbington said Lawrenceville "could not be more pleased with the news."

Lawrenceville’s Hometown Christmas Parade with the Anheuser-Busch Clydesdale horses will begin in the Downtown Square near the intersection of Pike and Perry Streets at 7 p.m. Friday.

The parade will begin at 7 p.m. Dec. 2, running down Perry Street along the downtown square, east on Crogan Street and south on Chestnut Street. In addition to the Clydesdales, it will feature Santa Claus, more than 40 community floats and "Christmas activities" on the square.
