Budweiser Clydesdales not coming to Gwinnett for Christmas

Lawrenceville isn't quite getting a lump of coal this Christmas -- but it ain't getting the Budweiser Clydesdales anymore, either.

In early October, Gwinnett's county seat triumphantly announced that Anheuser-Busch's iconic equines would be featured in its first-ever Christmas parade on Dec. 2. On Tuesday, however, it was forced to relay the news that a "scheduling conflict" means the festivities will be horse-free.

The Clydesdales will be going to "the New York market" instead.

“Unfortunately, due to scheduling conflicts, our world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales will not be able to make their originally scheduled appearance in Lawrenceville this holiday season," Jeff Knapper, the brewery's general manager of Clydesdale operations, said in a news release. "We apologize for any inconvenience, but look forward to bringing the hitch team to Lawrenceville again in 2017."

The city still plans to move forward with the parade, which is scheduled to include community floats and Santa Claus. Groups interested in participating in the parade can fill out an application here.
