The city of Brookhaven remains open for business for many permitting and inspections operations while a zoning moratorium is in effect.

During this time, all applications that were received prior to Jan. 24 will be processed normally.

Between Jan. 24 and Feb. 27, applications will continue to be accepted for tree permits, trade permits and interior renovation permits. Also, the fire marshal’s office will continue safety and occupancy inspections during this time.

Until Feb. 28, a moratorium remains in effect on all zoning cases, land disturbance permits and building permits. The moratorium is necessary to correct a gap in the zoning code that occurred at the time of incorporation which could adversely affect current Brookhaven property owners.
