Next month Brookhaven will host its inaugural Stream Clean-up 10 a.m. to noon, May 2, at the tributary of West Nancy Creek on the south part of Murphey Candler Lake. The city scheduled the effort for Water Appreciation Day, a celebration of water clean-ups throughout the Atlanta area. Volunteers are needed to assist the cleanup and are asked to arrive between 9:45 and 10 a.m., at the gravel parking lot just east of the Murphey Candler football fields, wearing sturdy closed-toe shoes and long pants. The city will provide all equipment needed for the cleanup, including bottled water.
