A certified public accountant who has worked in various government jobs in Georgia will soon take over as Brookhaven’s first finance director.

Bonnie Kline begins work in the city Friday, managing the city’s proposed $25 million budget and setting budget policy.

Kline had previous served as finance director in McDonough and Tybee Island and also worked as accounting director for the state Department of Community Affairs.

Kline will earn $100,000 in the role.
