The Brookhaven City Council agreed to defer two requests for rezoning during a recent meeting. One was for a special land use permit request by the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority for a transit oriented district along Peachtree Road and Dresden Drive. The other was for a mixed used development on Peachtree and Apple Valley Roads who requested a postponement.

One reason for deferring the MARTA decision was significant opposition from residents. The two matters will be reviewed during the meeting Feb. 28.

The council also approved two appointments to the Brookhaven Planning Commission. Michael Diza and Madeleine Simmons were approved by unanimous vote to the city board to serve a period of four years.
