Brookhaven City Council recently appointed seven residents to serve on the city’s first Development Authority.

The panel will promote economic development in the city, which plans a development plan by year’s end.

Members will serve four-year, staggered terms. They are Walk Ehmer, president of Waffle House, as chairman and members Luke Anderson, Susan Coker, Pat Hoban, Tim Peaden, John Rhett and Bruce Whitmer.
