The Brookhaven City Council voted to approve a special land use permit to the QuikTrip Corp. during a recent city council meeting. The application was requested for both a gasoline station and convenience store that sells alcohol at the property located at 3249 Buford Highway.

The property was previously used as a nightclub, The Cream Ultra Lounge, which has been closed since 2014.

The commission granted the permit with the conditions that the sidewalks be large enough for the pedestrian traffic in the area and that the corporation provide an extension of the nearby bike trail to the property.

The commission decided to table discussion of the rezoning amendment regarding the landscape buffer requirements until the next meeting.
