The Brookhaven City Council agreed to obtain a short term loan recently. The $3.5 million loan will pay city expenses during the first part of the fiscal year, in place of tax revenues which generally become available toward the end of the year.
The figure was based on the amount used during the same period last year.
Another item on Tuesday’s agenda, revisions to the city’s paid time off and sick leave benefits policy, was approved unanimously by the council, allowing all approved holidays to be floating holidays and keeping the same amount of paid time off and sick leave.
The council also voted unanimously to approve the intergovernmental agreements between the city and both MARTA and the Georgia Department of Transportation, to begin planning the city’s Livable Center Initiative for Peachtree Road improvements.
