Sugarloaf Parkway at Lawrenceville Highway was closed for a short while Wednesday and re-opened due to a suspicious package at the fuel pumps at the Shell Station at that intersection (1555 Lawrenceville Highway), according to Gwinnett County police.

The Explosive Ordinance Disposal unit discovered the suspicious package was a briefcase that was left next to the fuel pumps. The owner returned to claim it a few minutes after the unit arrived. Police used a robot to investigate the briefcase, then released it to the owner, said spokesman Cpl. Jake Smith.
