Two children were killed Saturday morning when a fire broke out at a home in Forsyth County, authorities said.
Authorities responded to the blaze on Apple Valley Court in the Lanier Heights subdivision about 2:40 a.m.

Forsyth County deputies were the first to arrive at the scene. They tried to enter the home, but the fire was too intense, Division Chief Jason Stover told Channel 2 Action News.

In an upstairs bedroom, firefighters discovered the bodies of two children, ages 9 and 12. They were identified as Shaun Noe and his younger sister Morgan Noe.

Authorities are still working to determine the cause of the fire, but no foul play is suspected, Georgia Fire Commissioner John King said.
“Unfortunately, this particular home did not have working smoke alarms at the time of the fire,” he said.
A GoFundMe account set up to help offset the family's funeral costs has raised nearly $21,000 since the fatal blaze.
“You are never prepared to lose someone you love, let alone lose both of your babies at once,” the page reads.
