A man in Morrow who refused to leave his residence Wednesday afternoon was arrested after a brief standoff, police said.

Zandavious Whatley was wanted on charges of interference with a 911 call, false imprisonment and battery of a family member. The warrants were issued in December and Whatley had been on the run, police said.

As soon as officers arrived at the Woodstone Condos residence on Woodstone Terrace, Whatley “began crying for us not to hurt him and he peacefully surrendered,” police said on Facebook. “This is actually the way we would like this to go down. He was arrested with no force used.”

A woman inside the Woodstone Condos residence on Woodstone Terrace came out with Whatley, Morrow police spokeswoman Sgt. Q. Lumpkin said.

She was not a hostage and was not the same woman involved in the original incident.
