Atlanta crews are repairing an 8-inch water main break located in Midtown.

Initial reports show that a contractor hit the main and broke the line, according to spokeswoman Rukiya Campbell.

The site of the issue is at West Peachtree Street NW and 5th Street NE.

The Department of Watershed Management said on Facebook that it was investigating a potential main break at 2:25 p.m.

The city has not released information on how long the repairs could take or the number of residents and businesses affected.
