Woodstock High School Navy JROTC Cadet Lt. Commander Katlyn Deveau won the Legion of Valor Award.

Anne Cross of Clayton Elementary School won a first-place Fire Up Your Feet award, a $1,500 grant and a Walk in Circles award from the Safe Routes to School National Partnership and Georgia Safe Routes to School Resource Center for her initiatives including the Get Yourself Moving walking/jogging before-school and recess program.

Blake Bruce and Ty Dickey of Atlanta were named to Forbes' inaugural "America's Top 500 Next Generation Wealth Advisors" list.

Olivia Colburn of Alpharetta High School received the National Academy of Future Scientists and Technologists Award of Excellence from the Science Advisory Board of The National Academy of Future Scientists and Technologists for her outstanding academic performance, leadership potential, and dedication to serving humanity through science, technology, engineering or math.

Katherine Davis of Bogart was named to the Bob Jones University 2017 Handbell Choir.

Stephen Evans of Atlanta was recognized for his work in lupus research during the Lupus Foundation of America's National Gala in New York City.

Mason Rzepkowski and Jake Sanders of Whitewater High took sixth and eighth place in the state, respectively, on the Buying and Merchandising exam at the Distributive Education Clubs of America International Career and Development Conference.

Robert L. Brown Jr. of Savannah was honored by Georgia Historical Society with John Macpherson Berrien award for a lifetime of achievement in the field of Georgia history and for outstanding service to the Georgia Historical Society.
