Atlanta World War II veteran James H. McLemore recently was presented with the flag flown over the U.S. Capitol on Veteran's Day by Sen. Johnny Isakson, R-Ga. McLemore's daughter, Lauret Howard, arranged the honor. McLemore left Georgia Tech as a freshman and became a navigator, taking part in bombing missions across the Pacific Theater of Operations.
Woodward Academy head football coach John Hunt recently was named the 2014 AAAA Coach of the Year by the Georgia High School Association. The team had an 11-3 record this season and Woodward's first football region championship since 1997.
