It may not be Yogi, but Buckhead residents may want to hide their picnic baskets (or just hide in general) after a bear sighting was reported in the area.

Atlanta police started receiving calls Thursday about a bear on Belvedere Drive and Glenbrook Drive, Officer Lisa Bender said.

But you may not have to hide that picnic basket just yet.

“There are no reports of the bear being aggressive,” said Bender, who confirmed that Animal Control has been notified.

It is not known how the bear wandered into the area or how long it has been there.

Bear sightings usually occur in North Georgia, the Ocmulgee River and the Okefenokee Swamp, according to the Georgia Wildlife Resources Division.

But a few were found in parts of metro Atlanta last year. Gwinnett authorities warned Sugar Hill residents last May after getting calls that one was roaming in the area.

Last August, a Forsyth County homeowner saw a black bear feast on a bird feeder just 15 feet from his back door.
