A woman charged with murder after police said she intentionally ran over her boyfriend was denied bond during a court appearance Tuesday, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Sharees Dennard, 30, has been charged with murder and aggravated assault in the death of Dwight Francis, 31, according to Fairburn police spokesman Sgt. Anthony Bazydlo.

Dennard's next court appearance is scheduled for June 5.

Police were called to the area of Campbellton-Fairburn Road and Koweta Road at about 2:15 a.m. Sunday by motorists who said they saw a body in the road, Bazydlo said,

Investigators discovered that Francis and Dennard had gotten into an argument at a nearby house.

As Dennard got into her car to leave the house, Francis jumped onto the car, according to police. Dennard continued driving southbound onto Campbellton-Fairburn Road.

At some point Francis was either thrown or jumped from Dennard's car, at which point investigators believe he was intentionally struck by Dennard.

Investigators said Sunday that at least two other cars may have struck Francis' body after he was struck by Dennard.

A third vehicle has been identified by police as having struck the victim’s body in the roadway, Bazydlo said Monday. That third driver has come forward and allowed police to examine the vehicle. No charges were filed against the second and third drivers.

"We continue to ask anyone who may have inadvertently struck the body to please contact Fairburn police," Bazydlo said. They are asked to  call 770-964-1441 and speak with investigators.

Dennard and her car were located at 140 Orchard St. in Fairburn, about a mile and a half from where Francis died.

Tony McDaniel, who lives two doors down from the scene, told Channel 2 Action News that he heard a "loud thud," or "solid hit" of some sort.

"(It) sounded like a car wreck, but it just wasn't (any) screeching tires," McDaniel told Channel 2 on Sunday.

McDaniel said he then grabbed his dog and ran toward the scene, where he saw two cars accidentally run over the body, according to Channel 2.
