A dead body was found in a Georgia body of water for the second time Wednesday.

Fishermen called 911 when they found a body in the Bartow County section of Lake Allatoona about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, officials said.

The body of a missing swimmer was found in the Carroll County section of the Chattahoochee River about 11:40 a.m.

Several boats were searching the area near where Interstate 75 crosses Lake Allatoona, close to the blockhouse boat ramp, when Channel 2 Action News flew over the lake about 2:30 p.m.

Sgt. Jonathan Rogers with the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office said the fishermen spotted the body from their boat and called 911.

Deputies and investigators from the Bartow Sheriff’s Office responded with the Bartow Fire Department, Bartow EMS, the Georgia Department of Natural Resources and the Bartow Coroner’s Office to recover the body, Rogers said.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation Medical Examiner’s Office will be conducting an autopsy to determine more information.
