The body of a 48-year-old Cobb County man who drowned in Lake Lanier was pulled from the water Friday morning.

Hall County divers found Fabian Yates, of Powder Springs, around 1 p.m. in about 60 feet of water, 140 yards from the shoreline, Cpl. Jeff Strickland with the Hall County Sheriff's Office said.

Yates' wife told police her husband jumped off a boat Tuesday in the vicinity of Mountain View Park and did not resurface. Divers had searched continuously for Yates since then and were able to locate the man through the use of side-scan sonar, which provides a picture of the bottom of the lake, Strickland said.

No foul play is suspected.
