The Fayette County Board of Education agreed Monday to get construction bids for replacing the gyms at North Fayette and Peachtree City elementary schools. Both structures were built in 1984 and are experiencing age-related wear and maintenance problems. Each new gym would cost approximately $1.1 million and could be built over the summer. The county will get a separate bid to possibly add eight classrooms to Peachtree City Elementary, to accommodate students from new housing developments coming to the West Village area in the next two years.
