Dirt is turning, deep fryers are humming and tequila bottles are turning up across DeKalb County, with a number of new developments and restaurants coming to town.
To name a few:
1. Jefe's Tacos & Tequila opens at 5 p.m. Sept. 16 at Town Brookhaven at 705 Town Blvd. in the former Noche space. The restaurant, complete with a "Day of the Dead" vibe, is from Joseph Riley, also the executive chef and owner of Kaleidoscope Bistro & Pub.
More about the menu here.
2. Tin Can Oyster Bar, just a few doors down, has opened for business. It features a variety of oysters, a selection of open-faced "toasties, mussels, salads, seafood stew and chowders."

3. 'Distinctive' luxury townhouses are going up near Emory University on Clairmont Road. The developer calls it "The Mews at North Decatur," and bills the homes as luxury townhomes that will "combine rich architectural character and distinctive details with innovative interiors."
5. Pollo Tropical is open in Tucker. Located at 4235 Lavista Road, the fast food spot is known for Caribbean flavors and, of course, chicken.

6. Dunwoody City Hall is moving to a bigger space on Ashford Dunwoody Road. It's the result of an $8 million purchase approved by officials.

7. Dinosaurs. OK, this one isn't exactly in the same vein as the others, but it's big in a different way: Fernbank Museum of Natural History, which is in DeKalb County, plans to go big with its latest exhibition, "The World's Largest Dinosaurs," opening Sept. 17.
