A 29-year-old Cobb County bank employee has been arrested and charged with using customers' account information to cash thousands of dollars in fraudulent government checks, Channel 2 Action News reported.
Tasha Lynette Goodson, of Marietta, is being held on $150,000 bond in Cobb County Jail after her arrest Monday on one count of computer fraud and 12 counts of forgery, according to the Cobb County Sheriff’s Office.
Goodson is a former assistant branch manager of the Chase Bank on Barrett Parkway in Marietta. An arrest warrant accuses her of using the account information from 12 customers to cash fraudulent U.S. Treasury checks of $2,000 to $12,000 apiece.
Chase realized the checks were bogus and called in Cobb County investigators, who looked into the check activity and arrested Goodson.
Efforts were being made by Channel 2 on Tuesday evening to reach a Chase spokesman for comment.
