Two streets in downtown Ball Ground will be closed much of the coming weekend for the filming of a scene for the movie, “Airborne,” the city announced.

Fayleure Productions Inc. will be filming in the Ball Ground Burger Bus, 288 Gilmer Ferry Road, from about 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, March 9, the city said. To accommodate equipment trucks, Mound Street between Gilmer Ferry Road and Chestnut Street, and Church Street between Gilmer Ferry and Groover Street, will be closed from Friday afternoon through Sunday afternoon, March 8-10.

Gilmer Ferry also will be closed, but only occasionally, two to three minutes at a time, the city said. Employees of local businesses will have access to the parking lot off Mound.

“At this time, the production company estimates they will have around 150 cast, crew and support members working in the city,” Ball Ground said. “They have made arrangements to rent parking lots close to town and will be using a shuttle bus and vans to bring in cast and crew as needed.”
