Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office Maj. Carl Sims takes AJC Gwinnett News columnist Rick Badie on a tour of the Gwinnett County jail in Lawrenceville.

The jail staff is preparing to implement a program known as the "287-6 program, " in which Gwinnett Sheriff's officers will perform citizenship or immigration status checks on each inmate processed into the jail. Illegals will then face possible deportation.
