A 7-month-old baby died after being left in a parked car during the workday Wednesday at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala.

The child, left by a parent who is a NASA employee, was found at 4:42 p.m., AL.com reported.

“Early reports indicate that the parent intended to drop the child off at the childcare center and instead went straight to work,” NASA spokeswoman Jennifer Stanfield said in a statement.

NASA hasn’t released the child’s name “out of respect for the family and pending all appropriate family notifications,” Stanfield said.
