The five Avondale Estates candidates running in the March 17 special election for mayor will have a debate 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday, Avondale Estates City Hall, 21 N. Avondale Plaza.

In possibly the largest Avondale mayoral election ever, Paul Brown, Jonathan Elmore, Jim Hutchens, John Pomberg and Todd Pullen are running to fill the unexpired term of Ed Rieker, who resigned last October. Each candidate will give opening remarks lasting three minutes, followed by audience question, concluding with two-minute statements from each candidate.
