The long-awaited Avondale Estates mayoral election is Tuesday, with the polls open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Most residents will vote at the Avondale Estates City Hall, 21 North Avondale Plaza, but those living in the newly-annexed Stratford Green will vote during the same hours at the Avondale Pattillo United Methodist Church, 3260 Covington Highway, Decatur.

The five candidates — running to the fill the unexpired term of Ed Rieker who resigned 5½ months ago — are Paul Brown, Jonathan Elmore, Jim Hutchens, John Pomberg and Todd Pullen. The term expires Dec. 31, with another election for the full four-year term on Nov. 3.
